Pope Innocent VIII succeeded Pope Sixtus IV on 29th August, 1484. Pope Innocent VIII born in Giovanni Battista Cybo. He served as a Pope from 29th August 1484 to his end of life in the year 1492. Pope Sixtus IV born Francesco della Rovere was a Pope from 9th August 1471 to his end of life in the year 1484. As a pope his activities was comprised building the Sistine Chapel and the formation of the Vatican Archives. He was renowned for his favoritism and was for myself complicated in the notorious Pazzi conspiracy.

On 29th August, 1521, The Ottoman Turks captured Nándorfehérvár who was called Belgrade. The Ottoman Empire is also called The Exalted Ottoman State. It is also historically recognized in Western Europe as the Turkish Territory or Ottoman Turkey but it is mainly familiar as Turkey. Agreement of Nanking signing ended the First Opium Battle on 29th August, 1842. The Treaty of Nanking is also called Nanjing. This was a peace agreement. It was made to end the First Opium War what started from the year 1839 to 1842. It held between the Qing dynasty of China and the United Kingdom on 29th August 1842. This was the 1st of what the Chinese later named the unsatisfactory contracts on the ground that Britain had no obligations in return. The First Opium War is also familiar as the Opium War or the Anglo-Chinese War. It was a series of armed actions what held between the Qing dynasty and the United Kingdom over differing viewpoints on diplomatic trade, relations and the management of justice in China. During the American Civil War, on the 29th August, 1861, the Battle of Hatteras Inlet Batterie gave Federal army forces control of Pamlico Sound. Pamlico Sound is located in North Carolina in the US and it is the largest lagoon along the North American East Coast what extending 129 km long and 24 to 48 km wide. It is a part of a large, unified network of lagoon estuaries what contains Albemarle Sound, Croatan Sound, Currituck Sound, Pamlico Sound, Bogue Sound, Roanoke Sound and Core Sound.

1869
The Mount Washington Cog Railway opened for public on 29th August, 1869 and making it the world’s 1st mountain-climbing rack railway. The Mount Washington Cog Railway is recognized as the world’s first mountain-climbing cog railway. This railway is still in operation and it is climbing Mount Washington in New Hampshire, USA. It usages a Marsh rack structure and one or two steam engines and 6 biodiesel motorized trains to transport tourists to the top of the mountain. Its track is made to 4 ft. 8 in gauge, which is strictly a narrow gauge, as it is a  1⁄2-inch less than 4 ft. 8 1⁄2 in standard gauge. A rack railway is also called several names and those are rack-and-pinion railway, cogwheel railway and cog railway. This railway is a steep grade railway and it is toothed rack rail what is typically found between the running rails. The trains are properly fitted with one or more cog wheels or pinions that mesh with this rack rail. This permits the trains to function on steep grades above around 7 to 10%, which is the maximum for friction-based rail.

The Goodyear tire company was founded on 29th August, 1898. The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is a popular American multinational tire manufacturing company. It is founded in the year 1898 by Frank Seiberling and it is based in Akron, Ohio. Goodyear company manufacturers tires for automobiles, light trucks, commercial trucks, motorcycles, race cars, SUVs, airplanes, farm gear and heavy earth-mover machinery. The company was called after American Charles Goodyear, creator of vulcanized rubber. The first Goodyear tires became very prevalent since they were easily detachable and obligatory little care.

The United States passed the Philippine Autonomy Act on 29th August, 1916. The Jones Law is also called as the Jones Act.
